did this for my art class. graphite on strathmore i think. working with 6b all the way to hb. i like this dark darks.

thanks so much! I used graphite pencils. hb through 6b. an di also used a blending stump a.k.a. tortillion. once you lay in the amount of graphite you want in an area you blend it even in to the paper so that pencil strokes don't show. then to get texture you kind of have to go back and forth doing this. adding and taking away (with a kneaded eraser) to give it the final texture you like. thats just how i do it though :D thanks again for the comment.
